The most beautiful music I ever sang in choir was written by Cantor Charles Osborne when he was cantor at Temple Emanuel in Newton, MA. It is his setting of Psalm 122, also known as the Pilgrim’s Psalm, which is most fitting as we celebrate a holiday of pilgrimage to the Temple in Jerusalem. I have included the Hebrew & English text and music and a youtube link. I hope you enjoy it. Cantor Osborne has written a substantial body of music for synagogue services and most of it is accessible to the congregation and not cantorial showpieces.
