Our synagogue , Beth Abraham, in Dayton Ohio had a youth choir led by Cantor Jerome Kopmar. It eventually got good enough to travel around the US and Israel. They recorded several albums, including one with Jan Peerce. Learn More.

This iconic anthem is about hope, perseverance, and faith in uncertain times.

Omer tie-in: The Omer is a time of spiritual refinement in the wilderness—we’re halfway there in a journey toward revelation at Sinai. Lyric reflection: “Take my hand, we’ll make it, I swear.” Could also explore themes of bitachon (trust) and communal support in growth.

The song that Latke Recipe is based on (Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon) is a terrific song that my wife and I love to swing dance to. Since The Maccabeats turned it into my absolute favorite song of theirs a couple of Chanukahs ago, I’ve had a hard time deciding which I like better, their parody or the original. Learn More.
