This band broke up a while ago, unfortunately. They are named for the modesty stockings we see on Hassidic women. They have a great music sensibility, and a sound like no one else. It isn’t every day to hear Hassidic womens’ voices.

The popularity 1960s style instrumental Surf Guitar has periodically waxed and waned during subsequent decades. A little more than twenty years ago, there was another one of those revivals which inspired a group of Jewish musicians to meld this style of music with traditional Klezmer. Actually, at the same time, there was another one of those Klezmer revivals which brought attention to groups such as the Klezmatics. So creating Meshugga Beach Party and its blended musical style made perfect sense. Although the band seems to currently be defunct, we play their disks all the time in my household. Learn More.
